The movie is a psychological thriller in the best traditions of Hitchcock and Chandler, due summer 2006.Pare then started acting, studying under legendary acting teachers Uta Hagen and Marvin Nelson.  In 1981 he was cast as a regular on the popular TV series "The Greatest American Hero" (ABC) as a brooding high school student.  Soon after, Pare starred as the lead in the popular hit film "Eddie and the Cruisers" with Ellen Barkin, Tom Berenger and Joe Pantoliano (1983, and the later sequel, too) as an iconic 1950s rock star.

The movie is a psychological thriller in the best traditions of Hitchcock and Chandler, due summer 2006.right) with help from an unconventional sidekick/buddy (Amy Madigan), together with the singer's manager (Rick Moranis) and a doo-wop group (including Robert Townsend), all threatened by a stylized motorcycle gang leader (Willem Dafoe as the kidnapper).  Although it wasn't a U.S. box office blockbuster, the film won 2 awards (including "best 'foreign' film" in Japan), has gorgeous, moody sets, lighting, and action sequences, a great 80s rock & roll musical score, and a devoted following around the world.

The same year, Michael Pare starred (with Nancy Allen) in the big-screen adventure "The Philadelphia Experiment" -- about a US Navy Destroyer Escort that disappeared from the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard in 1943, and sent two men 40 years into the future (1984). The science fiction movie won the "best film" award  from the oldest genre film festival in Europe in 1985 (in Rome) and is considered a science fiction cult classic.  Sadly, sometime during this period, Joyce Selznick, Michael's agent, mentor and friend, passed on.

He also appeared in the made-for cable TV-movie  "Triplecross" (Showtime, 1995).

The movie is a psychological thriller in the best traditions of Hitchcock and Chandler, due summer 2006.Pare next played the doomed husband of a pregnant woman (Linda Kozlowski) in John Carpenter's "Village of the Damned" (1995); the adult Trip Fontaine in Sofia Coppola's "The Virgin Suicides" (1998) -- a film starring James Woods, Kathleen Turner and Claire Danes; and was in the popular "Hope Floats" (1998) with Sandra Bullock, Harry Connick Jr. and Gena Rowlands.  Pare also honed his serious acting skills by doing several challenging live theater productions, including a highly-praised performance in Louis LaRusso's "The Black Marble Shoeshine Stand" (1998) in New York.

Professional, highly skilled, multi-talented, and ever a true gentleman, Michael Pare has appeared in around 60 films worldwide, earning him a large international following of loyal fans, and is considered one of the most attractive and talented actors in world cinema.
